    • Are you an AdSense publisher?
    • Do you use Google Analytics?
    • Have you linked them together?
If your answers are yes, yes, and no, you’re missing out on some interesting stats.
It’s been possible to link Analytics and AdSense for a while now, but I come across plenty of publishers who are either yet to do so or who are not actually doing anything with this information. To get them linked, check out this page on Google.
Once they’re linked up, over time as the data begins to collate, you’ll have at your fingertips some interesting information that will hopefully enable you to increase your AdSense earnings further.
There are a heap of stats that you’re given in the AdSense section of Google Analytics, and as a result, there are plenty of ways to dig in. But a simple starting point is to do some analysis of which content is generating the biggest income for you.
I’m not sure that I’m able to show my stats for AdSense earnings, so I won’t show any screen grabs, but here’s what I do:
    • Once I’m in Analytics, I head to the Content section, under which there’s an AdSense section.
    • I click on the AdSense Pages menu item, which opens up a report of the pages on the blog that earned money in the last month, and ranks them by earnings.
By analyzing the posts listed there, you’ll hopefully begin to see the reasons why certain pages earn more than others. For example I did some analysis today of my last month’s earnings and found:
    • My post on ISO Settings did well. It had a higher than average CPM, a pretty good CTR, and decent traffic—an all-round good performer.
    • My post on Wedding Photography Tips, on the other hand had a much higher CPM, and higher CTR, but less traffic than the ISO page.
    • My photography tips for beginners page again did well mainly because of traffic but less so on a CPM and CTR basis (it has less ads on the page),
    • My how to buy a DSLR guide has particularly good CPM—for a topic on which advertisers are obviously bidding against each other.
With some basic analysis, you can start to see a number of things:
    • which types of posts attract higher paying ads (higher CPM)
    • which topics seem to be performing best
    • which post lengths seem to convert best
    • which posts you should try to direct more traffic to, because they’re well optimized
    • which pages on your site might be good candidates for an extra ad.
Out of the analysis, you might want to tweak some pages to see if you can add more ads, position them better, and so on.
You might also want to think about replicating some of them—taking a popular topic and writing followup posts.
You might also want to find ways to promote some of them more. For example, if you have a really hot page, why not link to it more prominently from your navigation bar and try to get more people to it?
I can’t tell you exactly what you’ll find when you do this exercise, but it’s rare that I do it and don’t get something out of it! Give it a go!
make money with google adsenseHere's your complete guide to getting started along with some info on how to maximize your earnings, why some accounts are disabled and even alternatives to AdSense. If you want to jump to the various sections, use the table of contents on the right. Below is an AdSense check I scanned from 2006. At the time, it was the largest check I had received in the three years I had been in the program. I blurred out my address, account number and bank info for privacy reasons, of course. Note: Google now pays me by direct deposit, here's a more recent screenshot. It's important to note that this is from 6 websites.

    Summary:

AdSense is one of many ways to earn money from the Web. AdSense for content is a system of Google contextual ads that you can place on your blog, search engine, or Web site. Google, in return, will give you a portion of the revenue generated from these ads. The rate you are paid varies, depending on the keywords on your Web site used to generate the ads.
Text ads come from Google AdWords, which is Google's advertising program. Advertisers bid in a silent auction to advertise for each keyword.
AdSense also supplies image and video ads through AdWords.

    Restrictions:

Google restricts AdSense to non-pornographic Web sites. In addition, you may not use ads that may be confused with Google ads on the same page.
If you use AdSense ads on search results, the search results must use the Google search engine.
You may not click on your own ads or encourage others to click on your ads with phrases like "Click on my ads." You must also avoid mechanical or other methods of artificially inflating your page views or clicks. This is considered to be click fraud.
Google also restricts you from disclosing AdSense details, such as how much you were paid for a keyword.

    How to Apply:

    Make money with AdSense
Can Make Money With Google AdSense
You must apply, and Google must approve your site,
before you may earn money from AdSense.
You can fill out an AdSense application directly at www.google.com/adsense
You can also apply from within your Blogger blog.
The application process may take several days before approval.

Cost:It is free to place AdSense ads.

    AdSense Locations:

AdSense is divided into two basic locations.
    • AdSense for Content
    • AdSense for Search
AdSense for Content covers ads placed in blogs and Web sites. You can also place ads in the RSS or Atom feed from your blog.
AdSense for Search covers ads placed within search engine results. Companies, such as Blingo can create a custom search engine using Google search results.

    Payment Method:

    Google offers three payment methods.
    1. CPC, or cost per click ads pay every time someone clicks on an ad.
    2. CPM, or cost per thousand impressions ads pay for every thousand times a page is viewed.
    3. Cost per action, or referral ads are software ads that pay for every time someone follows a link and takes the advertised action, such as downloading software.
Google for Search results only use CPC ads.
Payments are generally monthly by either check or electronic funds transfer. US residents must supply tax information to Google, and the income you receive will be reported to the IRS.

    Disadvantages:

Google AdSense ads can potentially pay well. There are people who earn in excess of $100,000 per year in AdSense revenue alone. However, to earn money from AdSense, you really need to attract a large audience. This takes time, quality content, search engine optimization, and possibly advertising. It's possible for a new AdSense user to spend more money on advertising and server fees than they earn in revenue.
It's also possible to make content with keywords that nobody has purchased through AdWords. When this happens, you will only see Google public service ads, and those do not generate income.

    Advantages:

AdSense ads are very unobtrusive, so it provides a better user experience than flashy banner ads. Because the ads are contextual, many people will want to click on them anyway, since the results may be relevant.
You don't have to be big or famous to start using AdSense, and the application process is simple. You can even insert ads in your Blogger blog, so you don't need to host your own Web site.
AdSense acts like your own ad broker. You don't have to negotiate prices or find appropriate advertisers. Google does that for you, so you can concentrate on creating quality content and

How Can I Earn With Google Adsense?
Legal ways to make money online, working from home just 2 or 3 hours per day. Can learn how make money with Google Adsense and earning up 95% profit for you easy in two month.

I'm an online bookseller, so the primary way I make money on the web is through selling my used books and the occasional DVD. This requires me to store inventory and actually package and ship a product. I love my job and fortunately have a large house, so storing books is not a problem; I know not everyone has access to this kind of storage. As I've looked for other ways to generate income, I've discovered a few ways that people make money online, legally, that don't require you to store or ship a product. Instead, you need to be able to provide what many internet surfers are looking for: quality information or content. If you like to write or are good at organizing information into interesting formats, these methods might work for you to help generate some extra income.
Make money on the web through article sites like Associated Content and Bukisa:
If you enjoy writing and can write short (400-800 words are ideal) informative articles, you can post them on article sites like Associated Content and Bukisa and make money through either upfront offers and/or page views. The money from these sites tend to come in slowly, often pennies at a time, but as you build up your article library you can find a steady stream of income coming in. At the time of this article's publication I'm averaging about $25 a month on page views from Associated Content. Others on this site, I know, are making up to $200 or more a month on page views alone, as well as a steady income on upfront payments for their articles.

The next two legal ways of making money on the web without inventory require you to have your own website and/or blog site or newsletter that you update regularly, to generate a steady stream of new web visitors.

Make money on the web through Google Adsense:
Most people are familiar with the Google ads you see at the tops and side of web pages. The owners of these websites are actually paid each time someone clicks on these ads, anything from a few pennies to a dime at a time. If you have a website, online newsletter, or blog site, one of the easiest ways to generate a little extra money is to join the free Google Adsense program and incorporate Google's ads into your web pages. You will discover that you have considerable freedom in how you want to design your Google ads: in towers on the side or across the top, generated based on your web page's content, or as a result of a Google search engine. One powerful option of Google Adsense is that you can set up the Google search engine so that it will only search your website/domain and generate appropriate Google ads above the results of the search. You can see an example of this at my website: here.

Make money on the web through affiliate programs:
Affiliate programs are extremely popular on the web and can be tailored to just about any kind of newsletter, website, or blog. You include a link to the "parent" website with a special code on your web pages and if your visitor actually buys a product through the "parent" website you receive a commission (usually between 5%-10%) of that sale, and possibly any sales from that customer for a limited amount of time. (This is where the concepts of "cookies" come in; this is how your visitors are tracked and you receive credit.) The key to including affiliate links is to think of what products or sites your visitor is likely to be interested in based on your content. If you are reviewing a specific book, for example, that is likely to still be in print, it make sense to include an affiliate link to Amazon where your visitor can easily purchase this book. If your site is focused on the bibliography of your favorite author and most of her books are out of print, it makes sense to include affiliate links to Abebooks, Alibris or Biblio where your web visitor can search for used copies for sale. Most affiliate programs offer the option of tailoring their links and ads to meet a variety of needs: link to a specific product, link to a specific ad or banner, or link to a search engine. If you are interested in adding affiliate links to your web pages from your favorite online company, check their home pages for a link at the bottom or top that says simply "Affiliate Program" to read the relevant FAQs.

Concluding remarks: How much money can I make with Google ads and affiliate links?
That's up to you. Seriously. I have a friend who has a homemaking website who makes hundreds of dollars a month from affiliate links and Google ads. But keeping her website updated with new and relevant content is a part time job. She's also been at it for several years now and through her persistence and by providing a quality information product now has a committed and loyal following through an e-mail newsletter. Like everything else, these money making techniques require work and effort to succeed. If you enjoy writing about your content subject and find ways to incorporate your affiliate links and Google ads creatively and logically into your newsletter, website, or blog, I would expect that the money will eventually follow. As you are first starting out, consider advertising your content through such social networking sites as Facebook and Twitter.

    Blessings!
